Where to stay for Comic-Con 2027
Comic-Con 2027 runs July 22 to 25 at the San Diego Convention Center. Wilbur By The Waves is a two-bedroom house in north Pacific Beach, about fifteen to twenty minutes north of downtown by car, for families and small groups who would rather come home to a deck and a lawn than a hotel corridor.
Before you book
Up to 4 adults
The house sleeps 6, and at most 4 of them can be adults. A family going to Comic-Con fits; five adult friends do not, and we would rather say that here than at check-in. For a bigger group, our other house, Crown Point Jewell on Mission Bay, is a short drive away and takes up to 4 more adults.
The dates
Thursday, July 22 to Sunday, July 25, 2027, at the San Diego Convention Center. Visit San Diego expects about 135,000 people. The dates are from the Visit San Diego event calendar, checked October 12, 2026, so confirm them on the event’s own site before you book.
The house, instead of a hotel
A long day on the show floor is easier to come back from with a bedroom door to close and a kitchen of your own.
- Beds: a king in bedroom 1, a queen in bedroom 2, and two queen sofa beds, with sheets, pillows and blankets provided
- Two full bathrooms, so nobody waits for the shower in the morning
- Remodeled kitchen with dishwasher, drawer microwave, and drip, Keurig and Nespresso coffee makers. Breakfast before the queue, dinner after it.
- Parking: private driveway spot plus street parking
- A/C in both bedrooms, and fast fiber WiFi
- Bonus room in a separate building: sectional, TV, washer and dryer
- Outside: fenced backyard, two decks, BBQ, outdoor dining for six and an outdoor shower
- The beach: Tourmaline and the sand a few blocks away, with a wagon, chairs, canopy and cooler in the house
Getting to the Convention Center
About fifteen to twenty minutes south by car on an ordinary day. With about 135,000 people heading the same way, Comic-Con days are not ordinary days, so plan the trip in.
- The trolley. The San Diego Trolley stops at the Convention Center. Driving to a station and riding the last stretch skips the downtown parking hunt entirely. Routes and times at MTS.
- A rideshare. The simplest door to door. The pickup spots by the Convention Center are a scrum at closing time, so walk a few blocks away from the crowd before you call a car.
- Driving in. Downtown parking fills early on Comic-Con days. Reserve a garage space ahead if you can, and leave more time than the map says.
- At the house. One private driveway spot, plus street parking.

Exhibitors, press and anyone working the show: fast fiber WiFi, A/C in both bedrooms, and a bonus room in a separate building, so one of you can be on a call while the other sleeps.

How far is the house from the San Diego Convention Center?
Downtown is about fifteen to twenty minutes south by car on an ordinary day. Comic-Con days are not ordinary, so allow more, or take the trolley or a rideshare for the last part.
Can a group of friends stay for Comic-Con?
Only if there are 4 adults or fewer. The house sleeps 6, including up to 4 adults. For a bigger group, our other house, Crown Point Jewell on Mission Bay, is a short drive away and takes up to 4 more adults.
Is there parking?
One private driveway spot, plus street parking.
Is there air conditioning?
Both bedrooms have A/C. The bonus room in the separate building has a ceiling fan but no A/C.
