What this is

Wilbur By The Waves is the website of a single holiday rental house in North Pacific Beach, San Diego, run by its owners. The public pages are a guide to the house and the neighborhood around it. The guest area at stay.wilburbythewaves.com is a private tool for people currently staying in the house and for the cleaning staff who look after it.

The guest area

The guest area is for guests of this house and its cleaning staff. It is not linked from anywhere public and is not indexed by search engines. Please do not use it if you are neither, and please do not submit anything untrue through it, because somebody acts on what it says.

Pressing a button there sends an alert to the owner. That is the whole of what it does.

The message program

• The only recipient is the owner of the property, at a number the owner configured. Nobody signs up, and there is no way for a visitor to give us a number.
• A message is sent when a guest checks out or when cleaning staff mark the house ready. That is a few messages a week at most, and the frequency varies with how often the house is let.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. Reply HELP for help.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Using the site sensibly

Please do not attempt to break the site, submit forms automatically, scrape it at volume, or use the question box for anything other than asking about the house and the neighborhood.

The words and pictures here are ours. Linking to the site is welcome. Republishing it is not.

The recommendations

Everything recommended on this site is somewhere we actually go, and nothing on it is paid for or sponsored. Hours, prices and menus change and businesses close, so it is worth checking before you set off. We cannot promise the neighborhood pages are current, and we are not responsible for anyone else's business.

Answers from the question box are generated and can be wrong. Treat them as a starting point rather than the last word.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable at times, and an alert may fail to arrive, which is why the guest area tells you plainly when something has not gone through rather than pretending it has.

A booking is governed by the terms of the platform it was made on, not by this page.

Changes, and getting in touch

If these terms change, the date at the top of the page changes with them. Questions about any of this can go through our Airbnb listing, which reaches us directly.
