Wilbur By The Waves
Privacy Policy
Last updated 25 August 2026. This is a small site for one house. What follows is a description of what it actually does, not a template.
The short version
Browsing this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and makes no request to any third party. Nothing about your visit is recorded.
Two parts of the site do collect something, and both are described below: the guest area form, and the question box on the guide pages.
We do not sell, rent or trade anyone's information, and we never share phone numbers with anyone for marketing.
Browsing the site
No cookies are set. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixel and no social embed. Every font, image and script is served from this domain, which is enforced by a Content Security Policy, so your browser makes no request to anyone else while reading these pages.
Our host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs of requests in order to serve and protect the site.
The guest area
The guest area at stay.wilburbythewaves.com has two forms. A guest checking out submits the door code they were given, and optionally a note. Cleaning staff press a button, and may optionally add when the house will be ready and a note.
Neither form asks for a name, an email address or a phone number.
What is submitted is sent immediately to the owner as an email and a text message and is not stored on this site or in any database. The email is delivered by Resend and the text by Twilio, who process it in order to deliver it. After that it lives in the owner's inbox and phone like any other message.
The submitting device's IP address is held in memory for up to one minute to stop the same form being sent repeatedly. It is never written down.
Text messages
The only phone number that receives text messages from this site is the owner's own, which the owner configured. We do not collect phone numbers from visitors, guests or anyone else, and there is nowhere on this site to give us one.
Messages are sent when a guest checks out or cleaning staff mark the house ready, which is a few times a week at most. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop them and HELP for help.
Phone numbers are not sold, rented or shared with third parties for marketing. Twilio processes the number solely to deliver the message.
The question box
The guide pages carry a box for asking questions about the house and the neighborhood. Questions are answered by Anthropic's Claude, so the text of your question is sent to Anthropic to produce an answer.
Each exchange is recorded so we can see what people ask and fix answers that are wrong. A record holds the question, the answer, the time, and a random identifier grouping one conversation together.
It does not hold your IP address. What is stored instead is a salted hash of it, which lets us see that fifty questions came from one person without keeping anything that identifies who. Please do not type anything private into that box; it is for questions about the beach.
Who else is involved
- Netlify hosts the site and runs the two small server functions.
- Anthropic answers questions typed into the question box.
- Resend delivers the email alerts to the owner.
- Twilio delivers the text alerts to the owner.
That is the entire list. No advertising network, no data broker and no analytics company has anything from this site.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes, and getting in touch
If this changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
